Went to see the Japanese film ‘ring’ at the ICA near Trafalgar Sq with two friends.
Ring came out in Japan about 3 years ago and was a popular book beforehand. It’s a horror story that on screen rarely gets any better than the X-Files. [Although this is not spoon fed to you like the X-Files] The acting is a bit drab and ropey with the lead character hardly putting her best performance. All said and done this is a very average horror flick that includes limited gore and shocks but wins on the outright weirdness of the ending!
When I was watching most people seemed a bit bored and then ‘it’ happened and the whole audience harmoniously let out their disbelief’s. Worth seeing just for that part.

I think its one of those films you have to talk about afterwards over a cup of coffee as it really does take a few of you to spell out what was going on.
