Being a man, I like to draw girls. Enjoy.

Starting from January the 28th, the National Maritime Museum of Cornwall will be holding an exhibition called “under the sea”.
I come from Cornwall, so I was pleased when a friend of mine contacted me to make a piece for the exhibition. The brief was to create a 1.3m high rotating set of cubes featuring 4 different types of diver: skin diver, deep sea diver, mermaid and Victorian era diver. Divers come in 3 parts, which when rotated combine with the other divers to create new, strange divers! Our “man in Japan” (me) also sneaked in some great hidden references, which you’ll have to snoop out for yourself.
The exhibition is open in Falmouth, closes at the end of the year.

OK so I wasn’t going to post this image to my website because quite simply it’s not the sort of stuff I comfortable making. I had the idea sure enough, and the execution isn’t terrible, however schoolgirl porn is something I’m new at making and don’t want to be perceived as a dirty old man! :)
Often, when I make new illustrations I will tout them on art forums to get a bit of instant feedback. Often I will completely ignore the feedback I get choosing my personal opinion over others. Posting on forums really does make ones style more digestible, but what happens to ones style? Unfortunately, it is easily extinguished.

Slowing getting back into drawing postcard ladies after a 2 year break from spending time on this type of illustration (I’ve been filling my time with study and making websites).
One of the major differences with this illustration is that I’ve decided to return to pencil&paper, dropped all use of photographic reference, the previous Neo Geisha were posed by a model and drawn in adobe illustrator.

Ordinarily I am not happy with my own illustrations but this one has been re-incarnated over 3 versions to what I consider perfection. Printed twice and once as insane A0 oversize, it ended up being bigger than me physically!! Printed into postcards and a major feature in two of my previous apartments. Available as a poster, contact me for details.

Originally a sketch that a model then posed for. I later turned this into 3D. Also available as a poster, contact me for details.

The texture on the kimono took about a month to complete. I almost gave up, glad I didn’t now.
