business cards

15th of Sep, 2000ce* in: diary

I now have business cards. They are 2cm by 4cm and in full colour - like I need them, why do I have these again? Oh yeah! To give out and let people see dadako.com!

strange

ce* in: diary

I have spent the past 3 days drawing ladies. I’ve made them turn, walk and speak. They have around 24 frames of animation each, theres 9 individual bodies and 6 heads. Then theres also 3 nationalities. I also had to make these ladies sit down, thats another 2 frames per body, boosting the total in frames to 26 per lady. Hmm, making 702 isometric images as big as my finger is not good for health, brain or sanity.

How often do you loose your lighter? Once a year, once a week? Do you smoke?
Today I got off the tube, rolled a cigarette and noticed I had no lighter. I wasn’t visibly rummaging around in my pockets - but to my disbelief, a man walked towards me, took out his lighter and asked me if I had a cigarette?!? The deal was that I get a go on his light mind you.
[Bastard took most of my baccy]

fuel bubble

12th of Sep, 2000ce* in: diary

After waking up very much the otherside of London as to where I work, I had to take that laborious stroll through town… my bad for starting this walk at 8:30am though.
Hey, if you didn’t already realise, London is fucked! I watched countless Central line tube trains roll past packed with commuters and decided to take the Bus.
When I got to Oxford Circus the road was filled with stationary Buses, so I took the tube!
Will this fuel crisis really make it to this bubble, London? I think it already is.

hills

Washing, shopping, cleaning. The house smelt like someone had died inside the kitchen so I cleaned that too. Today looks to be like the last day of summer, in hindsight I should have worn my flip flops down to the launderette. In bloody hindsight I should have gone to Hampstead heath! The only place in London where you can actually block the horizon with treetops. O well, there’s always next year…

birthday

My friend KEO is 26 today. Many happy returns.

gadgets

6th of Sep, 2000ce* in: diary

I had two invites to the WOW exhibition in Soho today so myself and a friend went along to check it out. There was a good hour between me and Steven finding Ganton street from the tube, but in the end, we prevailed. [I think we walked past it a few times]
I got very drunk on the free beer and spoke a lot of crap with the others there, including some Japanese. The exhibition wasn’t really much but I suppose this sort of thing happens every few years to reinforce that Japanese people are all crap buying numskulls living in a futuristic city full of life enhancing gadgets… ahem. Well, if that’s the wrong impression, why do people like this repeatedly send it out?
The good point of the WOW exhibition is that there is little annotation of all the items displayed, which does let us make our own minds up… I do think that these guys just brought back stuff to weird everyone out though.

beatles helpgame sprites

2nd of Sep, 2000ce* in: kleber, pixelart, websites

Sprite sheet for the Beatles Helpgame.

It was a long time ago when we produced this game at Kleber, it all came about before “habbos hotel” (to claim second place on multiplayer isometric pixel chat rooms, after the legendary but forgotten Mobiles Disco). Not that it did us any good, myself and the programmer slogged it out for three months to make a game that was never publicised and is virtually unheard of. I did all the graphics and a lot of the game design.

The site has long since been offline, but I have linked a fan site in the archive in this post.

The objective of this game is to navigate the many rooms as one member of the Beatles, then to find your instrument. When all of the 4 Beatles within the game have got their correct instruments (ringo must have the drums etc) then you can proceed to finish the game.
